Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has heaped praise on Manchester City's Rodri, acknowledging him as the best midfielder in the world at present.
Rice shared his thoughts during an interview with Joe Cole on Channel 4 during the international break while representing England.
When asked about the top players in his position globally, Rice quickly named Rodri as a standout performer. He expressed admiration for the Citizens' star's exceptional abilities and his vital role in the defending Premier League champions' midfield.
“Obviously the main one in the Premier League is Rodri, he’s incredible," the Gunners' star said, via TBR Football.
“What a player he is, the way he works, the way he keeps that Man City team ticking, you know he’s a top player.”
During the interview, Rice also praised his new teammate Jorginho, highlighting the Italian's positional sense and intelligence. He mentioned that he is eager to learn from Jorginho, which bodes well for Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal team.
