"I'm told": Fabrizio Romano suggests Tottenham player's changed his mind and now could leave

Tottenham winger Erik Lamela wants to return to Italy, according to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 28-year-old has been linked with the move away from the North London club, while Romano now reveals what he has been recently told. “Difficult, difficult,” he said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast. “I am told that he would love to come back to Italy where he was with Roma. But at the moment, there is no Italian club looking for a winger, so I think next summer he will leave Tottenham.” Four months ago, the journalist claimed that Lamela was happy at Spurs on the same podcast. “For Lamela there has been some contact from Italian clubs but the player is happy at Tottenham,” he back in October. “He believes that next season he can do something good.”
