Ilkay Gundogan has admitted he moved to Barcelona to help the club's young talents to develop.
The German midfielder joined the Spanish giants from Manchester City on a free transfer during the summer transfer window. He has agreed to a two-year contract with the club, which includes a staggering €400 million buyout clause.
Although City offered Gundogan a new contract, he opted for a move to the La Liga champions, citing his desire to share his experience with Barcelona's younger players as a motivating factor for the transfer.
"I expect great football, I think there's a lot of potential in the team, we have a very young squad and I hope that I can, with my experience, help the younger players to bring them to the next level," he said, via Manchester Evening News.
"I think the base is there, the potential is there, we just need to show it next season and that's why I came, that's why I joined. I'm full of motivation and dedication."
