"If they buy Erling Haaland": Ian Wright predicts what might happen to Chelsea's German duo if Tuchel has new striker

Ian Wright believes Thomas Tuchel will still be able to find a way to fit the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz into his system if Chelsea are going to sign a new striker this summer. The duo have adapted well to the new system and built a good partnership up front with Mason Mount often slightly behind them. According to Wright, they would not be pushed aside if a new striker was to arrive, thanks to Tuchel’s flexibility as a manager. “If Chelsea are to go to that place [at the top], they’re going to need a guy who is going to score the goals,” the former Arsenal striker said during The Kelly and Wrighty Show (via Optus Sport). “It does not make a difference if you have to move people around. If they buy Erling Haaland, that means Werner will play on the left. “Kai Havertz will have to find somewhere, whether he plays as a No.10 which perhaps that is his best position. You do not [turn down an opportunity] to buy someone just because [you find it difficult] to fit him in. “And it looks to me like [Tuchel] is the kind of manager [that] gets the pieces, then he does what he does with them. That’s why all of a sudden we start to see people play unbelievably for Chelsea. “Because this manager gets the players to play in a system that is suitable to the team, rather than his having a philosophy, like [Maurizio] Sarri, [Andre] Villas-Boas. These guys came in with a philosophy they wanted to play while this guy [Tuchel] builds a philosophy around the players he has got.”
