'I was wrong' - Gary Lineker admits he was wrong about 'unbelievably brilliant' Liverpool legend

Gary Lineker has admitted that he previously misjudged James Milner. Having been tasked with naming the top 10 unsung heroes of the Premier League era, Lineker added Milner’s in the list. However, the former football player apologised for a tweet he posted about the Liverpool man a few years ago.

“A few years ago I tweeted something," Lineker said.   He always played in different positions and I tweeted something, I did a tweet along the lines of ‘I don’t really know what James Milner is’ and I was wrong, because actually what he is is an unbelievably brilliant professional who will play anywhere for you.   "I apologised and he took it with great spirit."
