“I was just unlucky”: Player blames bad luck for failures at Manchester City

Philippe Sandler has opened up on his playing spell at Manchester City, claiming he just had bad luck that came to a disappointing end. The Dutch professional made a move to City from PEC Zwolle back in July 2018. He was highly rated and considered to have a promising future in the Premier League side. However, things didn't go well for the player as he made just two senior performances following his transfer. Sandler spent his playing spell at Anderlecht and Troyes on loan. Both moves were unsuccessful, with centre-back finding his playing time limited at the clubs. He returned to the Dutch side Feyenoord on the deadline day of the January transfer window. “I just had bad luck,” the player told NOS. “With hindsight, you can say that it was not the right choice, but it could just as well have been very different. “I’m at Feyenoord now, one of the biggest clubs in the Netherlands. I’m not that bad off. “For me, it feels like coming home. You’re close to your family again, which is something I miss abroad.”
