Ruben Dias has revealed that he started his playing spell as a striker.
Manchester City man is considered one of the best defenders in the world. Since joining the Citizens back in the summer of 2020, he has established himself as a key player in Pep Guardiola's squad and helped the team to win the Premier League title.
However, not everyone knows that before his fame as a defender, he used to be a forward.
"I was a striker when I began, really I was a striker - scoring goals was all I did," Dias said
in a new interview posted on Manchester City's official YouTube channel.
"The first competitive game I ever played, I don't know, ten minutes into the game, I was at the back because I couldn't help myself.
"I was seeing the team suffering and I was like, 'Ok, but I need to stay here because it's my position.' And soon enough, I just went to the back and I never came out again."
