"I thought": Paul Merson can't believe £16m Wenger signing didn't leave Arsenal

Paul Merson has revealed he was surprised that Calum Chambers did not leave Arsenal in the January transfer window. Former Gunners man, who currently works as a Sky Sports pundit, said he was expecting Fulham to come back for the 26-year-old after the player's loan spell at the Cottagers during the 2018-19 season. “Chambers, I thought Fulham might come back in for him, he didn’t let Fulham down last season. I thought he might be another body for them," Merson said on Sky Sports Premier League. Chambers has made 29 starts and two substitute appearances during his playing time at Fulham.
