'I thought it was a joke!' - Manchester City man admits he didn't believe when Guardiola signed him

Zack Steffen has opened up and revealed his reaction to when Manchester City first approached and signed him. The goalkeeper was signed from MLS side Columbus Crew in 2019 and has since become a steady deputy for number one goalkeeper Ederson. Speaking to Sky Sports, Steffen revealed that he when he first heard about Pep Guardiola and City wanting him, he believed it was a joke.

"I thought it was a joke! It was very surreal... I just couldn't believe it", said the US international.

  Since becoming a Cityzen, the 26-year-old his number of appearances has been limited due to his 'number two goalkeeper' role. Steffen has kept 7 clean sheets in 15 appearances so far.
