Keith Downie has dropped an update on Diego Carlos, claiming that Newcastle United are not prepared to pay his £70million release clause.
The Magpies have been interested in signing Carlos as the central defender has asked Sevilla to leave this month to join the Premier League club.
However, the Brazilian still has two-and-a-half years
rema
ining on his contract.
And according to Sky Sports journalist Downie, who has been in close contact with Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, Newcastle will not meet Sevilla's demands.
"I spoke to Guillem Balague earlier, who said that he's got a release clause of £70million. Newcastle aren't going to pay that." - he told GiveMeSport.
