"I had a lot of pain": Chelsea star admits he was in serious pain during Burnley draw but kept playing anyway

Kai Havertz has admitted that he was in serious pain during Chelsea's 1 - 1 draw with Burnley on Saturday but kept playing anyway. The 22-year-old was close to leaving the pitch early in the game after falling over the LED board at the Matthew Harding end of the pitch. However, he managed to stay and score for the Blues. “I had a lot of pain, so I just thought I have to try to run again, and sometimes in a game the pain goes away, but it was okay for me,” the German attacker told Chelsea’s official website. “I scored the goal, so then you have good feelings, and it is okay.” Then he added: “Of course it is not the best day when you draw at home with Burnley but all in all, we can be very satisfied with the last few matches. “We played good football. “We put a lot of effort into the games and we have to keep the momentum after the international break, come back here as strong as before. “I am very positive that we will continue this way.”
