How Newcastle United could earn Europa League spot

Newcastle United wanted to win FA Cup to qualify for the Europa League, however, Manchester City curtailed they hope on Sunday. But Newcastle could sill have a chance for the European football. Citizens, meanwhile, could miss European football, if UEFA sticks to their vow of banning them from Europe for the 2020/21 campaign. Their suspension would mean, that the fifth-place side in the Premier League a Champions League place. The fifth-place finish would be enough to get the Champions League place, while the Europa League spot will go to sixth. The same scenario would mean that eighth place in the Premier League would secure European qualification. Tottenham and Burnley currently have 45 points and they are seventh and eighth. Newcastle could cut that to three points behind eighth-place Burnley if they beat AFC Bournemouth and a victory over West Ham it could put them into the discussion for a Europa League spot going into the final five matches of the season.
