Tottenham Hotspur attacker Heung-Min Son has apologized for having to leave the club for the Asian Games but wants to return home a winner.
"I feel sorry because Tottenham is my team and I feel very sorry to be leaving my team-mates," he said. But I am playing for my country and that is also important. But honestly, I feel very sorry about that. That is what I feel."
The 26-year-old is loathed to talk about the subject of military service but he did make it clear that it is not the objective for him in heading to Asia.
"We can talk about this afterwards. We haven’t won it already," he said. "We are going there to win something and winning trophies for my country is always good. I am going there to win something, to win games. I don’t travel there for nothing."
