Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s return is needed at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to return to training next week, the club officially confirmed. The Armenian fractured his foot during Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat by Tottenham in the Carabao Cup back on December 19 and was ruled out for around six weeks. However, Mkhitaryan looks set to be back earlier than expected, which will be a boost to Unai Emery after he was told he has no money to spend in the January transfer window. The Armenian international’s performances weren’t so satisfying. The midfielder has largely disappointed, with loose touches, a lack of creativity bar a couple of brief moments, and a severe absence but even his return is needed at the club. Mkhitaryan has made 24 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season, netting five times.
