Neven Subotic has been hospitalised after being knocked unconscious during Saint-Etienne’s 3-2 defeat to Bordeaux on December 5th.
Just five minutes after Saint-Etienne had taken the lead, Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Ruffier rushed off his line to punch clear a cross from Maxime Poundje but caught Subotic and subsequently missed the ball.
After the game, Saint-Etienne coach spoke about the defender.
“Neven is going to stay here,” Saint-Etienne coach Jean-Louis Gasset said. “The doctor has been advocating for a few days of observation.” (via Goal)
Neven has received a message of support from Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
He tweeted: “Hope you are feeling better Subotic. God bless you my friend, stay strong, everything will be good.”
