Helmut Marko: “DAS worth two tenths for Mercedes”

Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko believes Mercedes’ DAS system gives them a two-tenth advantage over Red Bull. Mercedes caused quite the commotion on the second day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya when Lewis Hamilton debuted the dual-axis steering system. The system will be banned from 2021, but as it stands they will be able to use it as they wish for 2020. “The gap with Mercedes is around two tenths,” Marko is quoted as having told Auto Bild. “They get that time because they have no understeer in corners as they use DAS.” Source: planetf1
