Hector Bellerin has opened up about his decision to leave Arsenal and join Real Betis this summer.
For over a year, there had been rumours claiming that the Spaniard is on his way out from north London and during this transfer window he made a loan move to the La Liga side.
Speaking for the
first time about his move, Bellerin spoke of his happiness to play for Betis since it was his father’s favourite club:
"Being able to make my father happy with a dream that is his, and fulfilling it for him, makes me very excited.
It is a feeling my father has instilled since I was little. As a child I was a bit of a turncoat, but he forced me to wear the Betis shirt.”
And for his departure reason the right-back weirdly hinted at the weather:
“I wanted the sun and heat, but I didn’t come here on vacation.”
Bellerin joined Arsenal as a kid from Barcelona academy back in 2011 and made his senior team debut in 2014.
