Hearn reveals how many world titles Anthony Joshua will fight Andy Ruiz for in rematch

Eddie Hearn has denied Andy Ruiz could be stripped of one of his world titles before his rematch with Anthony Joshua. According to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, Joshua remains determined to head back to New York to right the wrongs of his shock June 1 defeat. 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and former IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight-boxing champion Joshua was knocked out in the seventh round at Madison Square Garden Saturday night by massive betting odds underdog Ruiz Jr. The rematch will take place between November 16 and December 14. Mandatory defences on due on the WBO and IBF belts, while Ruiz also owns the WBA (Super) title, but Hearn dismissed the idea Joshua may be denied the chance to reclaim all of his world titles in the rematch. “It doesn’t matter to our fight, but I don’t see which governing body would do that, or could do that,” Hearn told IFL TV. “He’s just won the title and he’s entitled to a voluntary defence. That would be his voluntary defence. ‘Whoever wins this fight will have to face the WBO mandatory and the IBF mandatory, etc.”
