Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to go for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Since making a move to Old Trafford back in 2020, the Dutch professional failed to secure his place in the first-team squad. He has started just four times under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“I only want what’s best for Arsenal and I believe Van de Beek can play, if given the opportunity. The boy can play. He wants out. I think this young man has super ability," Campbell said.
“He can play anywhere around the midfield – holding, at eight, and he can play attacking. We’ve got another one who is versatile – a plug-and-play player for us.”
Van de Beek is much more skilled and talented than he was able to show at United. Even Ian Wright has opened up on the player, comparing him to the Red Devils' legend Paul Scholes and
calling him a "fantastic player".
“I’d compare him a little bit to Scholesy, although Scholesy had a cracker of a shot from 30/40 yards out and that’s not Donny’s strength, but he likes to come into the box and chip in with goals," Gunners legend told
MUTV.
