Newcastle fans hit back over former club striker Micheal Owen's "disrespectful" jibe.
Owen has joined Newcastle from Liverpool. He has made 79 appearances, scoring 30 goals for the club before leaving to Manchester United in 2009.
Since then the player would continue to impress, however, being unable to recapture his form for rejoining Liverpool.
Speaking on his playing time with the Reds to Jamie Carragher’s ‘The Greatest Game’ podcast via the Chronicle, Owen revealed that he was waiting to sign at Anfield which was his much-preferred move at the time.
Newcastle fans have reacted to the former striker's words, commenting on Twitter.

Of all the things that Michael Owen can discuss about his career, he sure does like to bring up how he made the wrong decision to join us. As if that was our fault. You didn't want to be here and it showed. Don't give us stick for that.

Funny how he still hasn't admitted to faking injuries when he was at Newcastle Utd though
