Inter Milan have expressed their interest in Folarin Balogun, while Arsenal is considering their options regarding the former Reims loanee.
Last season, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal team struggled with a lack of efficiency in the attacking third. Neither Gabriel Jesus nor Eddie Nketiah established themselves as consistent goal-scorers. Even Kai Havertz, who missed clear chances in the Community Shield, raises doubts about any improvement in the upcoming season.
Considering this, one might question the wisdom of potentially selling Folarin Balogun. The American international netted 22 goals during his loan spell at Reims, a mid-table team in the French top-flight last season. His predatory instincts stand out in contrast to Havertz and Jesus.
However, the current situation suggests that a late-summer transfer is more probable than not. Serie A side Inter Milan have openly declared their interest in Balogun, who could fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku at the club.
“We’re looking for someone who can score goals,” Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sport Mediaset, via HITC. “Balogun? He is one of the opportunities, but we don’t only follow him.”
As per information from ESPN, Arsenal rejected an offer from Monaco in a recent bid. Folarin Balogun's estimated value is £50 million. If Arsenal were to offload him at this valuation, it would result in a substantial profit for the Gunners, considering that Balogun became a part of their academy at the young age of eight.
