"He is off in summer". Some Newcastle fans are worried

Many Newcastle United fans are concerned about the future of Matty Longstaff after The Chronicle's Chief NUFC writer Lee Ryder revealed that an unnamed ‘ambitious’ European club have made an offer to the 19-year-old, and they are keen to sign him this summer. The report also says that the Toon do not have plans to hold talks with either Matty or his older brother Sean in the next week or so.

We lost Rondon last year because investing that much in a player that old was deemed bad financial sense. Now we can’t agree a deal with a youngster. Is it possible the club just haven’t moved with the market rates. How many other clubs lose their youngsters cis they won’t pay

Matty Longstaff needs to stay at #NUFC. NUFC needs to develop homegrown talent. A strong development academy will help NUFC be more competitive in the PL instead of always fighting to stay above relegation zone. Club could be less dependent on transfers with strong academy.
