'He found it difficult' - Paul Merson believes Liverpool man struggled a lot vs Aston Villa

Paul Merson has delivered his verdict on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, claiming he had a poor game vs Aston Villa. Last night the Liverpool attacker's role was false 9, an apparently he found this position hard to play in. Speaking in Sky Sports News, Merson stated that Chamberlain really 'found it diffiult' yesterday.

“It has never been a position. So you are asking someone to play in a position that isn’t a position. So it was hard, it was hard for him," the pundit claimed.   "Villa sat very deep, they pinged them back. For me, I thought he found it a little bit difficult today.”

The 28-year-old star is not a centre-forward, and it showed against Villa.
