Was there a HANDBALL from Henderson? Ex-PL referee gives his VERDICT

Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has once again backed Martin Atkinson and the VAR staff that did not disallow Roberto Firmino’s goal against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.  Brazilian scored the only goal to seal 20th victory of the season for the Reds. Firmino scored after Mohamed Salah’s pass. Egyptian international, on the other hand, got the ball after Jordan Henderson won it in the micro-battle against Dele Alli.  There has been a controversy over the goal, as many fans thought there has been a handball from the Liverpool captain before it reached to Firmino, who eventually hit the net.  Here is how Gallagher has explained the episode for Sky Sports: "I think VAR is absolutely correct here because Jordan Henderson heads it and it actually strikes Dele Alli's arm. It wouldn't have been a penalty because it struck his arm so close, but it definitely didn't strike Henderson. It was quite rightly given." Liverpool have 61 points and are 14 points clear of Manchester City, having one match played less than the back-to-back champions.
