Guardiola has spoken out on Champions League draw

Manchester City will seek to return to winning ways and rejoin the leaders as they entertain Newcastle United. Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last 21 top-fight matches against Newcastle. It is their longest ever unbeaten run against a single top-flight opponent. City boss Pep Guardiola had a press conference ahead of the game. Champions League reaction
The Champions League gets tougher every season, the teams are much better. We will see. It depends on our performance and of course we are going to try to go through. I’m not thinking about the final right now. It is in June, we are in August. It would be a big mistake. We focus now on the Premier League and then we will focus on the first game and try to get points to go through.
Newcastle tactics
He did it against us away last season. I haven’t spoken with Rafa so I don’t know if he will do the same. He does it because he believes it is the best way to get points and we are going to adapt .
On United's form
They remain a top team. We are just in August. They are there but it is just in August, there are a lot of points to play. After the international break the real season starts.
Mendy importance
Guardiola points out that City had success last season in breaking down teams without Benjamin Mendy, so even though he is important everything won’t be going through him necessarily.
Time spent on team or opponents
We spend more time on what we have to do in ourselves because at the end we can just image what our opponents our going to do but we don’t know 100 per cent. Against Huddersfield we expected them to play with 5 at the back and they played with four.
