Grand Slam champion opens up - 'he hated Roger Federer'

Daniil Medvedev has revealed he used to hate Roger Federer. The Russian tennis player recently was crowned as the champion of the US Open 2021 after defeating Novak Djokovic. Even though the world No. 2 called the world No.1 as the greatest player of all time, he once claimed that Federer has been his toughest opponent. However, there was a time when he used to hate the Swiss tennis star.

“I hated Roger. I just couldn’t see him win again. I was cheering from the first round for other guys because that’s the way I was,” said Medvedev in that interview.
