Global Esports Federation reveals details about Athletes and Players Commission

The Global Esports Federation has revealed the details of the initial composition of its Athletes and Players Commission. The commission has been created to focus on education, fair play, and the development of career pathways for esports players. The Athletes and Players Commission is chaired by five-time Olympian Charmaine Crooks, with Koen Schobbers serving as the vice chair. “I am thrilled to bring my experiences as an Olympian, administrator, and entrepreneur with a deep passion for sport and technology – together with Koen, we will advise the GEF Board and help shape the organisation, convening this incredibly inclusive community, and uplift the lives of so many through the Global Esports Federation development platforms and #worldconnected outreach," said Crooks. The commission will advise the board of the Global Esports Federation regarding matters relating to the representation of esports players and oversee the creation of a new initiative that enables players to come together through learning platforms and tournaments. Schobbers also added: “I’m honoured and excited to work with Charmaine Crooks and the whole #worldconnected team at the Global Esports Federation.
