Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum has claimed he has no news over a move to Barcelona after reports claiming a deal is done.
The Netherlands international was free to hold talks with clubs outside the Premier League since the turn of the year with The Sunday Times reporting Wijnaldum has agreed a deal to join Barcelona to play under fellow Dutchman Ronald Koeman at the Camp Nou.
When asked whether the reports are true, the 30-year-old said:
“As I’ve said on other occasions, I have no news still.
“They say [a deal is done] in the media but I have no news,’ he added. “When there is I will talk about it, but there isn’t. I’m here now to talk about the games against Turkey, Latvia and Gibraltar.”
The Netherlands are currently in the international duty and have picked up a 4-2 loss to Turkey on Wednesday night.
