Gini Wijnaldum REACTS to Euro - 2020 postponement and SENDS a MESSAGE to fans

Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum is disappointed with the Euro - 2020 postponement, but indicates the importance of health and security.  The Netherlands international was part of Ronald Koeman’s side that managed to qualify for their first major tournament in 6 years.  For the first time since 2014, Netherlands are not only among the participating teams, but favourites to win the European title. However, they should wait for another year to play in the European championship.  “No @EURO2020  this summer. Disappointing for the fans and everyone involved, but it's health and safety above all. Please follow all health instructions and respect the tough decisions necessary to keep you and other people safe” Wijnaldum wrote on twitter. UEFA have pushed back European Championship to 2021. The tournament was scheduled to be held in 12 cities in 12 UEFA countries from 12 June to 12 July 2020, however, due to coronavirus outbreak, it was postponed. The Norwegian FA have taken to Twitter and are the first country to have announced that Euro 2020 will be postponed. The competition will now run between 11 June and 11 July 2021.
