Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic emerged as an option for Arsenal with a loan approach made to Serie A side.
Arsenal have until Thursday to agree on a move for the Croatia international, who was previously in Manchester United’s crosshairs.
However, The Gunners will have to take on the 29-year-old full-time in order to secure his services.
According to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio Arsenal offered Inter an initial loan fee of £4.3m (€5m), with a £34.6m (€40m) summer switch then on the cards.
Inter Milan, though, are only willing to let Perisic leave on a permanent basis before the end of the January transfer window.
