George Caulkin believes Newcastle United's January signings haven't improved the team, following the club's 1 - 0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Newcastle are sitting on the 14th place of the Premier League table. The Magpies have faced another loss at Selhurst Park, which is the forth unfortunate fixture for the team.
Steve Bruce’s side had brought Nabil Bentaleb, Danny Rose and Valentino Lazaro on loan during the winter transfer window. However, none of them could impress against Crystal Palace.
Caulkin admitted that Newcastle truly face hard times, stressing that January signings haven't improved the team game.
He said on the
Pod on the Tyne podcast:
"I think the players that they brought in in January, they haven’t addressed any of the big issues that were in apart from the fact that they needed cover at left-back. That was a sort of an urgency signing and the other two haven’t noticeably improved things. And they haven’t answered the questions that were there. The signings haven’t improved anything and that is a concern."
