Saul Canelo Alvarez beat Daniel Jacobs in Las-Vegas to add IBF title to his WBA and WBC titles in middleweight.
Mexican boxer produced a good performance, and despite Jacob’s efforts in the final rounds, Canelo won 115-113, 115-113, 116-112.
After the fight, Gennady Golovkin lashed out at Canelo by telling the DAZN commentators what he thought of the boring fight.
“Frankly, I was expecting much more. It was just like a sparring match,” Golovkin said. “It was a little boring. They are both high-level boxers, they should give more to the audience. I didn’t see any emotion. I didn’t see anything special. It was just a good sparring match.”
Canelo beat GGG by a 12 round majority decision last September. Although Golovkin maintains that he’s not upset with the loss.
“Not at all. First of all, deep in my heart, I didn’t feel like I lost it,” GGG said about his defeat to Canelo. “Second, I enjoy my career, I enjoy my family, I enjoy my time and I’m sure there will be a third fight.”
