Gazzetta dello Sport: Liverpool can save millions on Timo Werner transfer

Liverpool have long been linked with a move for RB Leipzig winger Timo Werner but they have asked for move time as they want to assess the financial impact the suspension of football will have on the next transfer window before making a formal bid. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, this decision can save millions on transfer.  Manchester United and Chelsea have opened talks with Werner's representatives, following Liverpool's decision to wait. But if they don't agree on a deal with Werner, Liverpool could save millions after signing him.  The 24-year-old has scored 27 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions. But he looks to leave the club with Liverpool in pole position for the German.  Gazzetta dello Sport claims, if RB Leipzig don't win the Bundesliga title this season, the buyout clause in Werner contract will drop from £52m (€60m) to £44m (€50m). RB Leipzig are currently third in the Bundesliga and are five points off leaders Bayern Munich with nine games remaining. Source: Express
