Manchester United have agreed on a deal to sign Fernandes, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday. However, Gary Neville believes United need to bring in a striker before the transfer deadline on Friday.
The midfielder will head to Old Trafford as part of a deal worth an initial €55 million (£47m/$60m). United could pay up to €80m (£68m/$88m) for the Portuguese star due to a number of additional clauses that have been agreed to by the two parties, including €5m centred around personal objectives.
"I thought they would do at least two deals in this window, we’ll see what happens in the next 48 hours," Neville said ahead of the Manchester derby on Wednesday. "I think a striker is required now after what has happened with Marcus Rashford.”
