Gary Neville tells Ed Woodward to make five transfers

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes his former side need to make four or five signings this summer if they want to catch Liverpool and Manchester City for trophies. The Red Devils are on an impressive run at the moment as they look to finish in the top four. Neville thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to bring in a centre-back, left-back, goalkeeper and a striker on top of someone like Sancho. He told Sky Sports: "I like it [the team] as a United fan. You’ve got to have a team that you like as a fan and that the players who are wearing the shirt care and are doing the right thing, not that they’re not making mistakes, all footballers make mistakes but you look at them now, they look together, they look like they’ve got a spirit and to me, it’s got all the hallmarks of something that I like, which is footballers working as hard as they possibly can with an element of talent. "They can get better and better, they’re young a lot of them and Ole has transformed the transfer strategy in the last 18 months to two years. At times, it has been questioned by me and by others because he maybe hasn’t been moving quickly enough, I would still say that the club need to invest this summer. "Mason Greenwood is playing right wing, but I think they need a winger. I think they need a centre-forward, I think they need a centre-back, they need a proper challenge for David de Gea and then at left-back, they maybe need something if Luke Shaw gets injured. "For me, they need four or five players still to challenge, whereby they can get into a position where they can challenge for a title and win in Europe – that’s where the club needs to get to."
