Gary Neville issues a verdict on Harry Kane as Tottenham target European football

Gary Neville has said Jose Mourinho needs to spend money at Tottenham as he looks to 'renew his respectability'. Spurs are now four games unbeaten with just two Premier League matches remaining this season. And one of those games is against Leicester City, who are fighting for a top-four spot. Speaking on his podcast, Neville says that game will not be easy for the Foxes as they come up against a Spurs side that Mourinho is desperate to see end the campaign on a high. "Jose Mourinho is taking these games really seriously, as you'd expect," he said. "He's fighting to renew his respectability at the moment. We shouldn't be questioning him as his career's been absolutely magnificent and continues to be but there've been moments during this restart where we've looked at Tottenham and thought 'not sure'. "They just seem to have picked it up again and are still going. He said he wants more players, the other day he said he needs more than 11 good players. There was a cry to the boardroom, I'm not sure what sort of response he'll get in these times or any times. "You look at Tottenham and he desperately wants to finish the season well and on a high. That's why I think it will be a difficult game for Leicester." Neville drew parallels between Harry Kane and West Ham's Declan Rice and admits there are doubts forming over how long the striker will stay at Spurs. "There were still hopes of Champions League in that first half against Manchester United - they needed to beat United but United responded with a good second half," he said. "That just took the edge off Tottenham a little bit. I think they're an interesting one about where they go. You look at Harry Kane, I'm sure he'll be at Tottenham next season but there's more doubt than before. "Tottenham fans, like West Ham fans, won't thank me for saying there is more doubt around these two players. They're the type of players that clubs above them in the league at this moment in time will want because they're gold. They're players who'll be around for five or 10 years at the very top of their games." Source- football.london
