Gary Lineker jokingly took aim at Liverpool following Manchester City’s shock defeat by Wolves.

Adama Traore struck twice late on as Wolves stunned champions City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

City handed Liverpool an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The Match of the Day host, who is very active on Twitter when the Premier League is in full flow on a weekend, took to social media to provide his thoughts on the Citizens’ slip up in the title race.

“Surely it’s Liverpool’s title now,” tweeted Lineker. “It’s not like they’ve given up substantial leads before.”

The tweet references Liverpool failing to win the Premier League title last season, despite being seven points clear of Man City ahead of their January encounter at the Etihad.
