Gareth Southgate sends warning to Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford if they are to be considered for EURO 2020

Gareth Southgate warned Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford that they must provide their fitness by playing for their clubs before the end of the season in order to get a place in England’s EURO 2020 squad. Kane suffered a hamstring injury, while Rashford sustained a back injury. Southgate is optimistic both men will be fully fit. “We’ve had really good updates right the way through and Harry and Marcus are exactly where we were expecting them to be,” said Southgate. “Both players will give themselves the best possible chance of being available, that’s their mentality and that’s their dedication to their sport. “That’s the only bit we can guarantee, what we can’t guarantee is how that rehab will develop as it’s stepped up and as it becomes more intense. But they are both on track from the information we were given at the very start.” However, Southgate insists England have the quality to cope without the strike pair if they are not ready. “You have to be ready for whatever eventuality,” he added, to talkSPORT’s Nigel Adderley.  “So I think we have got forwards in the league who have been scoring goals, we’ve got wide players who have been scoring goals. So we’ve got really good competition for places but, clearly, we would want to be going to the Euro’s with our best players. And there is no doubt Kane and Rashford would be in that category.”  Source: Daily Mail Join us on Telegram!
