Gareth Southgate provides Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell update ahead of Germany

Gareth Southgate has provided an update on Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell ahead of England's crucial clash with Germany. The Three Lions will face Germany in EURO 2020 round of 16 on June 29. The duo are currently in isolation after having been in close contact with Scotland's Billy Gilmour, who tested positive for COVID19, following the goalless draw in group stage game. "They were able to work in a very small well-distanced group session but not with the full ground," Southgate told ITV. "They've not been able to take part in any of the full training sessions. "The guidance from Public Health England has been very clear and very specific so we've had to follow that." He added: "Well that's what we've got to take into account, really. "There's not only the training part of that but the psychological part of that of course. "They've had to spend a lot of time in a room on their own. It's a very difficult situation, firstly for the two boys. "When you come to a major tournament, you want to be a part of everything but they've had to isolate through this period which would of course be difficult for anybody. "For us we've got to make that decision as we progress." "As we get closer to the game, they come out of the full quarantine at midnight the night before the game," Southgate said. "We'll then be able to talk to them a little bit more than we are at the moment. "At the moment I'm having to redo the meeting that I'm having to do with the rest of the team over a Zoom call with them. "Although I can speak to them once they've been on the training pitch to do their session, it's just getting across all of that feeling that they have really."   source - Express / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
