Fred Vasseur has spoken out on the talks of Oliver Bearman being potential Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari replacement when Hamilton has not even raced for Scuderia yet.
Hamilton will be joining Ferrari in 2025 and will drive along side Charles Leclerc.
However, after the Saudi Arabian race, which Carlos Alcaraz missed due to illness, Leclerc raced along side young driver Ollie Bearman.
The youngster performed well as he started the race for P11 and finished P7, 2 positions above seven-time world champion.
It has been suggested that when Hamilton retires, Bearman could replace him at Ferrari.
Speaking on the suggestions, Vasseur said: “Don’t start to speak about after Lewis Hamilton, Lewis is still not in the team!
“But it’s a good signal for Ollie for sure, that was an important milestone. In Melbourne he will be back on the F2 project, and the most important challenge for Ollie will be this one.
“He will start soon the FP1 sessions with Haas, and this will be important also for us to give him experience and mileage in the car. But for sure with this one [Jeddah] he has the result in the pocket already.”
