Fred to set Manchester United Champions League challenge

Fred has repeated his desire to help Manchester United return to the Champions League this term. The Reds Devils got into the quarter-finals of the tournament last season but are back competing in the Europa League after finishing sixth in the Premier League. The 26-year-old became accustomed to playing in the top European club competition with former club Shakhtar but faces a quite hard challenge with United to do the same next season. In an interview with De Sola, the Brazilian said: "When everyone has the same goal, to win titles and be in the Champions League that’s when we will return to the place we belong. "A place where Manchester United should have never left.” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have suffered for consistency throughout the entire season however, Fred claims the manager needs time to prove his worth as manager at Old Trafford. Fred added: “He’s (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) a great person, great coach. It's a new job, a young coach, has his ups and his downs, like every coach and every player has. But he’s improving and I’m sure he will improve a lot and helps get where we want to be.” To secure qualification for the Champions League the Red Devils will either need to finish the season in the top-four  in the Premier League, or do so by winning the Europa League this season.
