Fred told United Review ahead of the Brighton game: "I think I've been playing well and helping the team, which is very important - as are the wins. We didn't get the win in the last Premier League game, but I think I played well. I hope to continue on this good run, playing good football. It's important for me and the team for everyone's run of games. I hope to continue doing my best, working hard step-by-step to help the team win." The 26-year-old contributed in the Red Devils' last win over Brighton. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with the midfielder's partnership with McTominay. Fred himself told: "For the work me and Scott are doing in midfield it's very important to us. We work very hard for our places in this team, as it's a high-quality team. So receiving such praise is important," Fred said. As I said, I hope we can continue this run. Of course, we want all the players to come back from injury and join us to strengthen the squad further. But I'd like to continue this run in the team and doing my best for Manchester United."
