Chelsea are pressing forward with a bid to try and sign Edouard Mendy from Rennes this week as a replacement for the Blues goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Blues have already signed six players during the transfer window - Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr.
Now Frank Lampard's side are looking to sign a goalkeeper. A host of names have been linked with a move to Chelsea including Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak, Ajax's Andre Onana, Burnley's Nick Pope as well as Rennes' Edouard Mendy.
According to Mirror, Mendy could be available for as little as £18m. And Chelsea's technical and performance director Petr Cech could be the driving force behind making a deal happen as the Blues legend has also spent two years at Rennes.
