Frank Lampard and Juan Mata amongst brainiest footballers

Thousands of students across the United Kingdom received their GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) results on Thursday and today is a good day to take a look who are the brainiest football players. Chelsea’s all-time record goalscorer and currently manager excelled in his GCSE exams.  He earned 12GCSEs at A or A*, including an A in Latin. His intelligence score reported being “well above 150”. Manchester United star Juan Mata studied journalism in Spain and regularly writes on his own blog online. He has also taken a degree in sports science and finance. Ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet speaks four languages and has a degree in law and political science. Andrey Arshavin, Socrates, Clarke Carlisle, Duncan Watmore, Jean-Alain Boumsong, Shaka Hislop and Matt Smith are also in the list of the brainiest footballers.
