Chelsea boss Frank Lampard issues positive injury update on Mason Mount after their Champions League defeat to Valencia.

Mount suffered an ankle injury after a nasty tackle from former Arsenal man Francis Coquelin, forcing him to come off after just 15 minutes on his Champions League debut.

“He has got an ankle injury which we don’t know how bad it is,” Lampard said after Tuesday night’s defeat.

“We are going to have to assess it in the next 24-48 hours to see the scale of the injury, to see how the injury is.

“It’s too soon to say, obviously it was a shame because he was playing so well and started well and we had to make the change early.”
