Frank Lampard hails his side despite the UEFA Super Cup defeat

Frank Lampard's side lost 5-4 on penalties to Jurgen Klopp's side in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night at Vodafone Park. However, despite the defeat, Chelsea boss has hailed his side as he claimed that he was proud of the Blues performance against the Reds. "I respect Liverpool and they had chances in the game but it was clear to me that we were the stronger team," he said. "We had some bad luck at times and maybe some bad finishing which we need to be more clinical with but my overall feeling from the game is one of pride in the team performance. "We wanted to win this game but we were unfortunate so I’m happy with the players. If that is a sign of what we can do this season then that is a good sign and I’m happy." Chelsea's upcoming game is against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday, August 18.
