Frank Lampard frustrated by Manchester United breakthrough that impacts Chelsea transfer plans

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is growing frustrated in the pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. A new goalie is on the agenda for the Blues, who are planning to axe the world's most expensive goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after a poor campaign between the sticks. The Blues are monitoring a host of targets as they look to strengthen their backline after conceding the most goals of any team in the Premier League top 10. Henderson, meanwhile, has enjoyed a fine campaign on loan at Sheffield United and has been earmarked as the Red Devils' long term number one. He is not guaranteed a starting role next season, however, and is reluctant to sit on the bench for a year. The 23-year-old is out of contract in 2022 so a new deal is a priority and work is underway to tie him down. According to Football Insider, the development has left Lampard frustrated, with Chelsea expecting to miss out. It leaves Stamford Bridge bosses having to look at other options on their wishlist.
