Four Premier League clubs are expected to be given extra time off and start next season late

Four Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Wolves, are expected to be given extra time off and start next season late in case of reaching the latter stages of their European competitions. The current Premier League season was over on Sunday, while for the next one the players could be expected to have 30 days off to recover, from the day after their final European game of this term. The matter is planned to be discussed during the next Premier League AGM. The latter is scheduled for August 6. In case of being given green light, Manchester City and Chelsea would not start their league games until Tuesday September 22 - 10 days after the official start of the new season (September 12) should they make the Champions League final on Sunday August 23. Meanwhile, if Manchester United and Wolves qualify for the Europa League final on Friday August 21, their first Premier League game of the new season could not start before Sunday September 20.
