Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that the potential departure of Martin Odegaard from Arsenal to PSG cannot be dismissed, therefore Arteta's side has to act quick.
The Villan emphasized the importance for Arsenal to secure a long-term contract for the 24-year-old in order to ward off the interest of the French champions, who may be willing to offer substantial financial incentives.
“I don’t see him moving to PSG. He’s the captain, Arsenal have Champions League football to offer, and he loves being there.
You can’t say he’s definitely going to stay, though, because PSG have got so much financial power. They pay silly money for players."
Insider sources have revealed that Arsenal is eager to swiftly reach an agreement with Odegaard, regarding an improved contract, as his existing deal is set to expire in June 2025.
In the 2022-23 season, the 24-year-old recorded an impressive tally of 15 goals and eight assists while Arsenal narrowly challenged Manchester City for the Premier League title. Presently, he is believed to be earning a weekly wage of £115,000 as per his current contract.
