The former Manchester United player will have "farewell match" at Old Trafford

Ecuadorian club LDU have confirmed they will have a friendly match with Manchester United at Old Trafford next year. The South American club are planning the game to be a farewell match for Antonio Valencia. The 34-year-old joined the Red Devils from Wigan Athletic in 2008. He made 339 appearances for the club, winning two Premier League titles. Valencia left Old Trafford to move LDU on a free move last summer. Now the right-back will have the chance to face his former club players. The match between LDU vs Manchester Untied was confirmed by Ecuadorian director Esteban Paz on Monday. Speaking on the fixture, the director told Radio Huancavilca: “Soon we’ll have the possibility to play against United at Old Trafford, where Antonio Valencia will have his farewell match. We hope it will be for the first quarter of next year.” The pointed date of the match is still unclear, and it's possible Manchester United would want to wait till the end of the season.
